Sure there are those users implementing clouds, VDI and unified storage; but for every one of those, there’s someone else just getting into remote replication, only tinkering with server virtualization, or planning their first SAN. We can assume that things are ‘done’ or ‘have happened’ across the industry, when really they have only passed their prime newsworthiness. Thus, server virtualization, power-efficiency, and even good old backup–all becoming rather old hat story-wise–remain crucial focus areas across most of the industry.
