Server virtualization is consistently listed among the top initiatives with significant influence on IT infrastructure purchase decisions, especially networked storage offerings like iSCSI technology. In fact, in a study of current iSCSI users, ESG found that more than one-third of respondents identified server virtualization support as the initial driver behind their deployment of iSCSI-based storage systems. In fact, more than half of these respondents made first-time iSCSI storage system purchases specifically to support server virtualization solutions.
